GOALART DIAGNOSTIC STATION
All GoalArt's on-line diagnostic functions are delivered in a GoalArt Diagnostic Station (GDS). This is a software system, which runs on a standard PC. It reads data from the control system and executes the diagnostic algorithms.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTIONS
GDS reads data from the target control system database, executes its diagnostic functions, and shows the results on a separate screen or sends them back to the control system's database. Each customer may select the desired functionality from a list of diagnostic functions.

CONNECTION TO THE CONTROL SYSTEM
GDS is connected to the existing control system through standard interfaces based on, for example, OPC, and performs its diagnostic tasks by communication with the control system's database. This is the only connection between GDS and the control system, which guarantees independency between the two systems.

HUMAN-MACHINE INTERFACE
The results of the diagnostic functions can be shown on a separate screen in the control room. This is often a good solution, since the control room already contains several screens and the operators are used to this working environment.

If the existing control system allows it, the results may also be transmitted back to and shown in the existing alarm lists and process diagrams. GoalArt can deliver this integrated solution for a number of control systems.

GoalArt is compatible with OPC, and with several other communication protocols. Our control system interface is also easy to adapt to new protocols.

CIM
GoalArt is compatible with the Common Information Model (CIM) for reading power grid information. More CIM information can be found on www.cimusers.org.
